This list of herbicides has been EPA approved and also recommended by our licensed contractors and prior contractors – namely Ashcreek Restoration, Pacific Landscape Management, Aquatechnex LLC, Top Aquatic and Drake’s 7 Dees Landscaping.

Spring and Summer Applications
Pre-emergent for weeds – Crew™, which is applied in spring and is safe for pets and humans
Moss control (if needed) – diluted Ferrous Sulphate once a year in limited areas – safe for humans and pets
Targeted and injectable treatment of cattails/iris – Imazapyr- if needed
Invasive weeds like trefoil, blackberry and thistle – Triclopyr – If needed
Reed canary grass – again selective and targeted spraying – Vastlan™/Rodeo®- if needed
All the green spaces for weed control – PowerZone® – In the summer (use was approved by the neighborhood and is by EPA) – The neighborhood is given adequate notice when applied and asked to stay off the grass for 2 hours. This is a systemic product and gets absorbed by the grass.
Along the Lake shore
General weeds along the shoreline – use of broad-spectrum aquatic herbicide – Habitat®, Clearcast® or AquaPro®. This is done infrequently, and most weeds are hand pulled.
